Dr. Saamuel's core expertise is in value generation, business development, turnaround management and crisis management, gained through the cross-cultural experiences amassed over 2 decades in senior management roles. This cuts across various for-profit & non-profit sectors, particularly IT, Education, and Advertising & Digital Media. He strives to bring the social element to businesses and the business element to social enterprises.

Currently based in New York in the US, Dr. Samuel offers key focus in Change Management, Tactic & Strategic Management, Non-profit & For-profit development, Strategic marketing consultancy and Turnaround management.

He is also very passionate about social empowerment and this reflects in his business decisions as well, since a major emphasis of work as Business Consultant and Business Mentor is in supporting and promoting small enterprises, particularly those with potential for community impact, such as social enterprises.

He is a Director and Member of the Boards of the nonprofits, Abbott House, New York and New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON).

He is the President of Anjappam Charitable Trust , a social enterprise in India that is serving the hungry through a chain of economy restaurants that provide free access to good food to all, regardless of financial limitations. He has helped to establish six Anjappam spaces across Kerala, India, through which food is made available for free for anyone who seeks it. Anjappam also undertakes various other social initiatives for fellowship, psychological wellbeing, and social betterment.

As a resident of the Sultanate of Oman until March 2022, Dr Samuel had been instrumental in the turnaround of various organizations in and around the region. He has led organizations such as the IT system integrator Intertech LLC and the media house Trifoil Advertising & Publishing SAOC as its Chief Executive and the media studio Studio.T, Muscat as its Organization Mentor.

Dr. Sam Samuel was the Chairman of the Board of Indian Schools in Oman, for the term 2018-2021. Indian Schools in Oman is a consortium of 21 non-profit community Indian schools (and two special education facilities) spread across the Sultanate. As Chairman, he has led the schooling system in a transformation from rat-race education to holistic education. He also steered the schooling system during its biggest challenge, the Covid-19 pandemic. His leadership saw the schools seamlessly migrate to remote instructions during school closures. He ensured the financial viability of this non-profit community schooling system while also sustaining parents and students with financial, psychological and other support. Before assuming post as Chairman, he was a Director of the Indian School Board for the term 2016-2018.

He was also the Vice-Chairman and a Director of the Board of the nonprofit Knowledge Oman - the largest voluntary enterprise in the Sultanate of Oman from 2020 till 2023. Knowledge Oman is a nonprofit collective that aims to spread knowledge and impart education, in line with the vision of late HM Sultan Qaboos into creating a knowledge-based society. Dr Samuel had been a part of KO since 2012 supporting its mission in various capacities. This includes roles such as the Senior Vice-President of Knowledge Oman and Head of the Coaching & Mentoring Unit.

A highly articulate independent thinker, he is a staunch advocate for the causes he supports - holistic education, self-empowerment, mental health, and social enterprises.

Dr Samuel is a member of the American Psychologist Association with a Master’s in Psychology and certified in NLP and CBT. He is also a Certified Career Services provider, accredited by the National Career Development Association (NCDA), USA and a certified Career Coach accredited by the Career Development Alliance, USA.

As a trainer, and educational & motivational speaker, he conducts training and development programs specially tailored for students, youth, teaching faculty, counselors, entrepreneurs, corporate and other demographics in both English and Malayalam languages. These have included various regional and international events and renowned forums such as Future Skills and HRD 2021; NCTE Conference 2019 (National Council of Teacher Education), India, KLF 2020 (Kerala Literature Festival), India, GESS 2020, UAE. As a speaker, panelist & trainer, he has also associated with organizations across Middle East and India like the Indian Embassy in Oman; Sultan Qaboos University, Oman; Muscat College, Oman; Sainik School Society across India, ICCAI, Muscat; Indian Institute of Teacher Education, India; OP Jindal University, India, and SRM University, Chennai, India, to name a few.

He is the author of the Malayalam books “Kanamethumillathe”, a memoir published by DC Books in 2020 and “Gandhi,” a part of the series, DC Quiz, published by DC Books in 2022.

His educational background includes PHD in Management Studies (Entrepreneurship); Masters in Arts in Psychology; Masters in Business Administration – MBA (Specialization- Marketing), and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management – PGDHRM (Specialization: HR). Also has continuing education certifications from global schools such as London School of Business, MIT Sloan, Harvard Business School, University of Pennsylvania, Yale University etc.
